Dear comrades and friends,

We have the honor to extend the militant greetings to your organization which opposes the high-handedness and aggression of the imperialists and values the world peace and justice.

As was reported, the South Korea-US Combined Forces Command announced the staging of the joint military exercises codenamed “Ulji Freedom Guardian” in south Korea from 17 to 27 August.

It is said that commands above corps, armada and air division and huge troops of 56,000 south Korean puppet army and some 10,000 US troops stationed in south Korea and abroad will participate in the projected drills.

And in particular, a new joint operational scenario will be applied in the drills in place of the existing “Operational Plan 5027”.

These war drills as a plain proof of the hostile policy toward the DPRK and the confrontational policy pursued by the US and the south Korean puppet regime will drive the already aggravated inter-Korean relations to a catastrophe and further exacerbate the confrontation and tension in the Korean Peninsula thus threatening peace and security not only of the north east Asian region but also the rest of the world.

Their dangerousness and consequences will be more serious as these drills are to be staged when the US imperialists and their followers get hell-bent in enforcing sanctions against the DPRK under the pretext of its satellite launch and nuclear test to cope with the ever-growing moves of the US to stifle it.

The reality clearly shows that “ensuring peace” and “dialogue” much touted by the US and the Lee Myung-bak clique are nonsense and their real aim is only confrontation and war.

The US and south Korean war hawks should ponder over the catastrophic consequences that could be entailed by their reckless war provocation moves, and stop at once the provocative “Ulji Freedom Guardian” games and arms buildup moves.

The Songun politics of Marshal Kim Jong Il, great leader of the Korean nation, is an invincible treasured sword and a sure guarantee for safeguarding peace of the Korean Peninsula.

If the US imperialists and the Lee Myung-bak clique dare ignite an aggressive war in the end in defiance of the strong protest of all the Korea people and the world peace-loving people they will not escape the bitter defeat and death.

Now the south Korean people from different social segments denounce the “Ulji Freedom Guardian” as undisguised provocation to all the Korean people and the world people desirous of peace and a never-tolerable challenge which brings about a nuclear war to the Korean Peninsula.

They are vigorously waging the struggle for ensuring peace against the US and war and driving the US troops out of south Korea.

On July 26, thirty four civic, youth and students and religious organizations of south Korea held a rally for peace against war near the US embassy in Seoul, asserted that the culprit of escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula is the US which clings to the preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK and its follower, the Lee regime, which runs amuck in anti-north confrontational moves, and strongly urged the US and the south Korean regime to retract their hostile policy towards the DPRK and stop at once the “Ulji Freedom Guardian” joint military exercises.

We avail ourselves of this opportunity to express our expectation and belief that your organization which always pays deep attention and renders positive support to the Korean people's struggle for peace and reunification would conduct solidarity activities in condemnation of the US and south Korean war maniacs’ belligerent moves against the DPRK.

Those activities could include publishing statement and press release, and sending protest message to the White House and the south Korean presidential residence.
