Leader Kim Jong Il is the great sun of the nation and the lodestar of reunification, who devotes all his soul and heart to achieve the cause of the national reunification with unique wisdom, outstanding leadership and noble patriotic volition.

He, who is possessed of ardent patriotism and enthusiasm for reunification, arranged in June 2000 the historic Pyongyang summit meeting, first–ever since the country’s division, and saw to it that the June 15 joint declaration, the milestone of the reunification, was adopted.

The publication of the declaration which highlighted the settlement of the reunification problem independently by its master, the Korean nation itself, was a brilliant outcome brought about by the lofty patriotic intention and volition of leader Kim Jong Il and an epochal landmark which ushered in the dawn of Korea’s independent reunification.

After the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration, inter-Korean dialogue and contacts got brisk, the severed blood vessels and land began to relink, and multisided cooperation and exchange took place.

63 unconverted long-term prisoners were repatriated to the motherland, shouts of “National Reunification” and “We are One” swept across the three thousand-ri land including Pyongyang and Seoul, Mt. Baekdu and Mt. Gumgang, Jeju Island, Busan and Daegu.

In October 2007, 7 years later since then, the leader arranged another Pyongyang summit meeting.

During the meeting he comprehensively clarified the problems arising in developing the inter-Korean relations and opening up the future of the reunification and prosperity of the nation with the sublime patriotism and far-sighted wisdom.

As a reflection of the aspiration and desire of all the fellow countrymen for realizing the reunification and building a powerful nation on the strength of national independence and unity, the publication of the historic June 15 joint declaration and its action program, the October 4 declaration, was a significant event which developed the movement of independent reunification advancing under the banner of “By Our Nation Itself” onto a new higher stage.

As long as we have leader Kim Jong Il the victory of the cause of the national reunification is certain to come true.

Kim Jong Il shatters the north-targeted war schemes and division moves of the anti-reunification forces in every step by dint of the patriotic Songun politics and wisely leads all the fellow countrymen to the struggle for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The AINDF and the patriotic people from different social standings in south Korea will hold higher the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration as the immortal program of reunification and wage the struggle across south Korea to bring about the reunification without fail, following the great Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

It was a historic event which opened up the vital circumstances to develop the cause of national reunification onto a new stage under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and a remarkable event that instilled a great conviction and hope for the reunification in all fellow countrymen.

The October 4 declaration that enjoyed absolute support at home and abroad is the brilliant embodiment and valuable fruition of leader Kim Jong Il’s outstanding idea and leadership.

During the days of the adoption of the October 4 declaration the fellow countrymen seethed again with infinite emotion and jubilation and envisaged the morrow of a reunified and prospering nation which will come soon through the majestic image of leader Kim Jong Il.

The October 4 declaration is the reunification program common to the nation which opened up an avenue for all fellow countrymen to promote reconciliation, unity and cooperation, and speed up the reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration.

It gives the solution to the fundamental and realistic problems arising in the reunification cause at present including the issues of improving the inter-Korean relations, achieving a durable peace on the Korean Peninsula and promoting the economic cooperation on the basis of the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

It is a programmatic guideline that clarifies the ways for opening up a new phase of the development of the inter-Korean relations and the national reunification.

With the publication of the October 4 declaration all the fellow countrymen could energetically wage reunification movement under the idea of “By Our Nation Itself” with clear aim and conviction of independent reunification, peace and prosperity.

However, the US imperialists and their followers, the anti-reunification forces, totally deny the declarations, scuttled the north-south relations which had been developing favorably and get frenzied in anti-north confrontational moves, viciously challenging the independent reunification era.

The AINDF and the patriotic people in south Korea will turn out in the struggle to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, smash the moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad by the united efforts and achieve the historic cause of reunification without fail.
