Maariv, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported that the south Korean foreign minister told Peres that his country supports and backs "Israel" and that in discussions with the Palestinians it always insists that the Hamas government must recognize "Israel" and the agreements signed with it and strive to come to a political settlement. The south Korean foreign minister added that his country had halted all aid that it had been giving to the Palestine Authority.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported on Friday that an agreement was near on a deal whereby "Israel" would supply south Korea modern unmanned spy planes valued at US$1.2 billion.

Haaretz revealed that the agreement, when signed, would be the largest deal in the history of the Zionist military industry.

The Haaretz correspondent for security and intelligence affairs reported that "Israel" had made exhaustive efforts to get south Korea to conclude the agreement, including reducing the price of the spy planes and stipulating that "Israel" would supply the planes with extremely modern reconnaissance devices that would give south Korean forces great potential to deter anything coming from north Korea, the newspaper said.
